And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon, and he made affinity with Pharao the king of Egypt: for he took his daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.


All of costly stones: which were sawed by a certain rule and measure both within and without, from the foundation to the top of the walls, and without unto the great court.


Pharao the king of Egypt came up and took Gazer, and burnt it with fire: and slew the Chanaanite that dwelt in the city: and gave it for a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife.


And the daughter of Pharao came up out of the city of David to her house, which Solomon had built for her. Then did he build Mello.


And before Isaias was gone out of the middle of the court, the word of the Lord came to him, saying:


And he removed the daughter of Pharao from the city of David, to the house which he had built for her. For the king said: My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for it is sanctified: because the ark of the Lord came into it.
