Adore the Lord in his holy court. Let the entire earth be shaken before his face.


And Pharisees and Sadducees approached him to test him, and they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.


But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: "Why do you test me, you hypocrites?


And being attentive, they sent traitors, who would pretend that they were just, so that they might catch him in his words and then hand him over to the power and authority of the procurator.


Is it lawful for us to pay the tribute to Caesar, or not?"


Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?" In response, they said to him, "Caesar's."


But when Jesus realized their thoughts, responding, he said to them: "What are you thinking in your hearts?


Yet truly, he knew their thoughts, and so he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Rise up and stand in the middle." And rising up, he stood still.


and he said: "So full of every deceit and of all falsehoods, son of the devil, enemy of all justice, you never cease to subvert the righteous ways of the Lord!


And let us not tempt Christ, as some of them tempted, and so they perished by serpents.


For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. And so it has been written: "I will catch the wise in their own astuteness."


So may we then no longer be little children, disturbed and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the wickedness of men, and by the craftiness which deceives unto error.


And there is no created thing that is invisible to his sight. For all things are naked and open to the eyes of him, about whom we are speaking.
