And when he had gone away from there, he found Jehonadab, the son of Rechab, coming to meet him, and he blessed him. And he said to him, "Is your heart upright, just as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab said, "It is." Then he said, "If it is, then give me your hand." He gave his hand to him. And so he lifted him up to himself in the chariot.


And I say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.


And he sent Peter and John, saying, "Go out, and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat."


And he led him to Jesus. And Jesus, gazing at him, said: "You are Simon, son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas," (which is translated as Peter).


But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he explained how the Lord had led him away from prison. And he said, "Inform James and those brothers." And going out, he went away to another place.


And after they had been silent, James responded by saying: "Noble brothers, listen to me.


And after a great contention had taken place, Peter rose up and said to them: "Noble brothers, you know that, in recent days, God has chosen from among us, by my mouth, Gentiles to hear the word of the Gospel and to believe.


Now Joseph, who the Apostles surnamed Barnabas (which is translated as 'son of consolation'), who was a Levite of Cyprian descent,


through whom we have received grace and Apostleship, for the sake of his name, for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles,


For I say, through the grace that has been given to me, to all who are among you: Taste no more than it is necessary to taste, but taste unto sobriety and just as God has distributed a share of the faith to each one.


But I have written to you, brothers, more boldly than to the others, as if calling you to mind again, because of the grace which has been given to me from God,


But, by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me has not been empty, since I have labored more abundantly than all of them. Yet it is not I, but the grace of God within me.


For I consider that I have done nothing less than the great Apostles.


I have become foolish; you have compelled me. For I ought to have been commended by you. For I have been nothing less than those who claim to be above the measure of Apostles, even though I am nothing.


For they were begging us, with great exhortation, for the grace and the communication of the ministry that is with the saints.


to reveal his Son within me, so that I might evangelize him among the Gentiles, I did not next seek the consent of flesh and blood.


And then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem to see Peter; and I stayed with him for fifteen days.


Next, after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, taking with me Barnabas and Titus.


And I went up according to revelation, and I debated with them about the Gospel that I am preaching among the Gentiles, but away from those who were pretending to be something, lest perhaps I might run, or have run, in vain.


For if anyone considers himself to be something, though he may be nothing, he deceives himself.


having been built upon the foundation of the Apostles and of the Prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the preeminent cornerstone.


Although I am the least of all the saints, I have been given this grace: to evangelize among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,


In him, too, I labor, striving according to his action within me, which he works in virtue.


But, if I am delayed, you should know the manner in which it is necessary to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and the foundation of truth.


He whom we have seen and heard, we announce to you, so that you, too, may have fellowship with us, and so that our fellowship may be with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.


Whoever prevails, I will set him as a column in the temple of my God, and he shall not depart from it anymore. And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that descends out of heaven from my God, and my new name.
