And so the prophet Isaiah called upon the Lord. And he led back the shadow, along the lines by which it had already descended on the sundial of Ahaz, in reverse for ten degrees.


But you, when you pray, enter into your room, and having shut the door, pray to your Father in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will repay you.


And when the crowd had been sent away, he entered. And he took her by the hand. And the girl rose up.


And crying out, and convulsing him greatly, he departed from him. And he became like one who is dead, so much so that many said, "He is dead."


And he was separated from them by about a stone's throw. And kneeling down, he prayed,


But he, taking her by the hand, cried out, saying, "Little girl, arise."


And when he had said these things, kneeling down, he prayed with all of them.


And when the days were completed, setting out, we went on; and they all accompanied us with their wives and children, until we were outside of the city. And we kneeled down at the shore and prayed.


Then it happened that the father of Publius lay ill with a fever and with dysentery. Paul entered to him, and when he had prayed and had laid his hands on him, he saved him.
