questioned the wise men, who, according to royal custom were always near him and all he did was by their counsel, who knew the laws as well as the judgments of their ancestors,


The Lord also said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt:


There are many intentions in the heart of a man. But the will of the Lord shall stand firm.


Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what the future day may bring.


MEM. Who is this, who said to do what the Lord did not command?


Then they will hand you over to tribulation, and they will kill you. And you will be hated by all nations for the sake of my name.


But they said, "Not on the feast day, lest perhaps there may be a tumult among the people."


Now the feast of Passover and of Unleavened Bread was two days away. And the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, were seeking a means by which they might deceitfully seize him and kill him.


But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, handing you over to synagogues and into custody, dragging you before kings and governors, because of my name.


And he said to him, "Lord, I am prepared to go with you, even to prison and to death."


Then the soldiers, when they had crucified him, took his garments, and they made four parts, one part to each soldier, and the tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven from above throughout the whole.


Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked wherever you wanted. But when you are older, you will extend your hands, and another shall gird you and lead you where you do not want to go."


And seeing that it pleased the Jews, he set out next to apprehend Peter also. Now it was the days of Unleavened Bread.


And so Peter was detained in prison. But prayers were being made without ceasing, by the Church, to God on his behalf.


to do what your hand and your counsel had decreed would be done.


And they laid hands on them, and they placed them under guard until the next day. For it was now evening.


And they laid hands on the Apostles, and they placed them in the common prison.


Then Saul was laying waste to the Church by entering throughout the houses, and dragging away men and women, and committing them to prison.
