1 Kings 13:6 - Catholic Public Domain Version

6 And the king said to the man of God, "Entreat the face of the Lord your God, and pray for me, so that my hand may be restored to me." And the man of God prayed before the face of the Lord, and the hand of the king was restored to him, and it became as it had been before.

Also, the altar was torn apart, and the ashes were poured out from the altar, in accord with the sign that the man of God had predicted by the word of the Lord.

And Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, "O God, I beg you: heal her."


And so they went to Moses, and they said: "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray, so that he may take away these serpents from us." And Moses prayed for the people.


But I say to you: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who persecute and slander you.


Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them. For they know not what they do." And truly, dividing his garments, they cast lots.


Then Simon responded by saying, "Pray for me to the Lord, so that nothing of what you have said may happen to me."


Bless those who are persecuting you: bless, and do not curse.


Do not allow evil to prevail, instead prevail over evil by means of goodness.


Behold, I will take from the synagogue of Satan those who declare themselves to be Jews and are not, for they are lying. Behold, I will cause them to approach and to reverence before your feet. And they shall know that I have loved you.


And all the people feared the Lord and Samuel exceedingly. And all the people said to Samuel: "Pray, on behalf of your servants, to the Lord your God, so that we may not die. For we have added to all our sins this evil, that we would petition for a king."


So then, far be it from me, this sin against the Lord, that I would cease to pray for you. And so, I will teach you the good and upright way.
