Whoso rewardeth evil for good, Evil shall not depart from his house.

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? did he not fear Jehovah, and entreat the favor of Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.


My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.


Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?


And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.


Herein I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men always.


If then I am a wrong-doer, and have committed anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die; but if none of those things is true whereof these accuse me, no man can give me up unto them. I appeal unto Cæsar.


But I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death: and as he himself appealed to the emperor I determined to send him.


while Paul said in his defence, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Cæsar, have I sinned at all.


and when they had withdrawn, they spake one to another, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.


So then am I become your enemy, by telling you the truth?
