Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, Him will I cut off: Him that hath an high look And a proud heart will not I suffer.
A talebearer revealeth secrets: But he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: But he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
A violent man enticeth his neighbour, And leadeth him into the way that is not good.
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, And they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: And meddle not with them that are given to change:
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
