Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all things that are in them.
A psalm for David himself. Sing ye to the Lord anew canticle: because he hath done wonderful things. His right hand hath wrought for him salvation, and his arm is holy.
Give praise, O ye heavens, for the Lord hath shewn mercy: shout with joy, ye ends of the earth: Ye mountains, resound with praise, thou, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and Israel shall be glorified.
Give praise, O ye heavens, and rejoice, O earth; ye mountains, give praise with jubilation: because the Lord hath comforted his people and will have mercy on his poor ones.
So I say to you, there shall be joy before the angels of God upon one sinner doing penance.
And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you that dwell therein. Woe to the earth, and to the sea, because the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.
