And Solomon slew victims of peace-offerings, which he sacrificed to the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king, and the children of Israel dedicated the temple of the Lord.


And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen, and one hundred and twenty thousand rams: and the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.


And he made on the eighth day a solemn assembly, because he had kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and had celebrated the solemnity, seven days.


And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, and to keep the dedication, and to rejoice with thanksgiving, and with singing, and with cymbals and psalteries and harps.


They appointed also in that day men over the storehouses of the treasure, for the libations, and for the first-fruits, and for the tithes: that the rulers of the city might bring them in by them in honour of thanksgiving, for the priests and Levites. For Juda was joyful in the priests and Levites that assisted.


Unto the end, a psalm for David, in an ecstasy.


And it came to pass in the day that Moses had finished the tabernacle, and set it up, and had anointed and sanctified it with all its vessels, the altar likewise and all the vessels thereof:


And the Lord said to Moses: Let each of the princes one day after another offer their gifts for the dedication of the altar.


These were the offerings made by the princes of Israel in the dedication of the altar, in the day wherein it was consecrated. Twelve dishes of silver: twelve silver bowls: twelve little mortars of gold:


And for sacrifices of peace-offerings, oxen twenty-four, rams sixty, buck-goats sixty, lambs of a year old sixty. These things were offered in the dedication of the altar, when it was anointed.


And the captains shall proclaim through every band in the hearing of the army: What man is there, that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
