O Lord, heed me quickly. My spirit has grown faint. Do not turn your face away from me, lest I become like those who descend into the pit.


The Lord is sweet to all things, and his compassion is upon all his works.


Since they have not understood the works of the Lord and the works of his hands, you will destroy them, and you will not build them up.


In the Lord, my soul will be praised. May the meek listen and rejoice.


Be attentive to my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.


They have not called upon God. In that place, they have trembled in fear, where there was no fear. For God has scattered the bones of those who please men. They have been confounded, because God has spurned them.


May those who seek my soul be confounded and awed.


And after this, the sons of Israel will return, and they will seek the Lord their God and David their king, and they will be terrified by the Lord and by his goodness, in the last days.


But many of those who had heard the word believed. And the number of men became five thousand.


And they were singing what seemed like a new canticle before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one was able to recite the canticle, except those one hundred and forty-four thousand, who were redeemed from the earth.
