He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.

The mouth of the just is a vein of life. And the mouth of the impious covers iniquity.

The blessing of the Lord is on the head of the just. But iniquity covers the mouth of the impious.

For the sins of the lips draw ruin to the evil. But the just shall escape from distress.

The mouth of the foolish is his destruction, and his own lips are the ruin of his soul.

And the entire people responded by saying, "May his blood be upon us and upon our children."
