The firstborn bore a son, and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.


The younger also bore a son, and called his name Ben Ammi. He is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.


The burden of Moab. For in a night, Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing. For in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing.


We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud; even of his arrogance, his pride, and his wrath. His boastings are nothing.


YHWH says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Look, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.


Concerning Moab, YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.


Concerning the children of Ammon. YHWH says: “Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?


You have heard their reproach, YHWH, and all their plans against me,


“You, son of humanity, prophesy and say, ‘Lord YHWH says this concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: “A sword! A sword is drawn! It is polished for the slaughter, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;


The word of YHWH came to me, saying,


You will know that I, YHWH, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They have been laid desolate. They have been given to us to devour.’


Lord YHWH says: ‘Because the enemy has said against y’all, “Aha!” and, “The ancient high places have become our possession!”’


YHWH says: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.


YHWH says: “For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;


This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of YHWH Almighty.


YHWH said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from y’all.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal to this day.
