Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”


When Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and saw that the Egyptians were marching after them. They were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to YHWH.


In the morning watch, YHWH looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.


When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.


In the course of those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel groaned because of the slavery. They cried, and their cry came up to God because of their slavery.


“I am YHWH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.


Therefore you are to tell the children of Israel, ‘I am YHWH, and I will bring y’all out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rescue y’all from their bondage. I will redeem y’all with an outstretched arm, and with great acts of judgment.


“Therefore look, the days come,” says YHWH, “that it will no more be said, ‘As YHWH lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.’


These are the waters of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with YHWH, and he was sanctified in them.


“Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because y’all rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.


About Levi he said, “Your Thummim and your Urim are with your godly one, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah.


“I am YHWH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
