3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
3 Why does the Lord bring us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and little ones will be a prey. Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? [Acts 7:37-39.]

3 "If only we had died in Egypt," and, "If only we would perish in this vast wilderness," and, "May the Lord not lead us into this land, lest we fall by the sword, and our wives, as well as our children, be led away as captives. Is it not better to return to Egypt?"
3 Would God that we had died in Egypt! And would God we may die in this vast wilderness, and that the Lord may not bring us into this land: lest we fall by the sword, and our wives and children be led away captives. Is it not better to return into Egypt?
and refused to obey. They weren’t mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and didn’t forsake them.
and the children of Israel said to them, “If only we had died by YHWH’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate our fill of bread. Instead, y’all brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
They said to them, “May YHWH look at y’all and judge, because y’all have made us a foul odor in the eyes of Pharaoh, and his servants, putting a sword in their hand to kill us!”
saying, “No, instead we will go into the land of Egypt, where we will see no war, or hear the sound of the trumpet, or be hungry of bread, that’s were we will live.”’
“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says YHWH.
but a whole month, until it comes out at y’all’s nostrils, and it is loathsome to y’all, because y’all have rejected YHWH who is among y’all, and have wept before him, saying, “Why did we leave Egypt?”’”
Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must also make yourself a ruler over us?
The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have y’all brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this worthless food!”
And y’all’s little ones, whom y’all said would be captured or killed, y’all’s children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, will enter there. I will give it to them, and they will possess it.
