We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.

For YHWH has poured out on y’all a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed y’all’s eyes, the prophets; and he has covered y’all’s heads, the seers.

Y’all are to give glory to YHWH y’all’s God, before ʜᴇ brings darkness, and before y’all’s feet stumble on the dark mountains, and while y’all look for light, ʜᴇ turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it deep darkness.

She who has borne seven languishes. She has given up the spirit. Her sun has gone down while it was yet day. She has been disappointed and confounded. I will deliver their residue to the sword before their enemies,” says YHWH.

Then they said, “Come, y’all! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah, for the law won’t be lost from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, y’all, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”

“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who utter lying divinations. They will not be in the council of my people, neither will they be written in the records of the house of Israel, neither will they enter into the land of Israel. Then y’all will know that I am Lord YHWH.”

Mischief will come on mischief, and rumor will be on rumor. They will seek a vision of the prophet; but the law will perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

Look, the days come,” says Lord YHWH, “when I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing YHWH’s words.

“Y’all must not prophesy!”—they prophesy. “Don’t prophesy about these things. Disgrace won’t overtake us.”
