then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them. I will cast this house, which I have made holy for my name, out of my sight. Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.


In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.


In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.


then I will uproot them from my land that I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.


They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.


Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They will not enter into my rest.”


For YHWH says, “Look, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.”


“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.


For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, ‘How we are ruined! We are greatly ashamed because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”


“Son of humanity, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and by their deeds. Their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.


I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. I judged them according to their way and according to their deeds.


since y’all have not yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which YHWH your God is giving you.


I declare to y’all today that y’all will perish-perish. Y’all will not prolong y’all’s days in the land where y’all cross over the Jordan to go in to possess it.


I call heaven and the land to witness against y’all today, that y’all will soon perish-perish from the land that y’all are crossing over the Jordan to possess. Y’all will not live long y’all’s in it, but will be destroyed-destroyed.
