Then David the king stood up on his feet and said, “Y’all listen to me, my brothers and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of YHWH’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God, and I had made preparations for the building.


Her merchandise and her wages will be holiness to YHWH. It will not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before YHWH, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.


Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am YHWH, and those who wait for me will not be disappointed.”


When he had begun to settle, a debtor who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.


In the same way, the one with the two talents gained another two.


He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Y’all are to do business with this until I come back.’


When David had served the purpose of God in his own generation, he fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and experienced decay.


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not futile. No, I worked more than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
