And the king rising up and standing said: Hear me, my brethren and my people. I had a thought to have built a house, in which the ark of the Lord and the footstool of our God might rest: and I prepared all things for the building.


And her merchandise and her hire shall be sanctified to the Lord. They shall not be kept in store nor laid up: for her merchandise shall be for them that shall dwell before the Lord, that they may eat unto fulness and be clothed for a continuance.


And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and queens thy nurses. They shall worship thee with their face toward the earth: and they shall lick up the dust of thy feet. And thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be confounded that wait for him.


And when he had begun to take the account, one was brought to him, that owed him ten thousand talents.


And in like manner he that had received the two, gained other two.


And calling his ten servants, he gave them ten pounds, and said to them: Trade till I come.


For David, when he had served in his generation, according to the will of God, slept: and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption.


But by the grace of God, I am what I am; and his grace in me hath not been void, but I have laboured more abundantly than all they: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.


The husbandman, that laboureth, must first partake of the fruits.
