When Abram was ninety-nine years old, YHWH appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless.


This is the history of the generations of Noah: Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.


There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.


Watch the blameless, and see the upright, for there is a future for the person of peace.


Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, they must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow me.


The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed. What do I still lack?”


But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.


Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell y’all that, in the regeneration of all things when the Son of Humanity sits on his glorious throne, y’all who have followed me will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.


He said to them, “Y’all come follow me, and I will make y’all fishers for humans.”


Therefore y’all are to be perfect, just as y’all’s Father in heaven is perfect.


But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”


As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” Then Matthew got up and followed him.


Looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”


As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.


He called the crowd to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to follow after me, must deny themselves, and take up their cross, and follow me.


Y’all must sell your possessions and give to the poor. Y’all must make purses for yourselves that won’t wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.


In the same way, then, any of y’all who don’t renounce all that you has cannot be my disciple.


I am telling y’all, y’all must make friends for yourselves* by using unrighteous wealth so that when it runs out, y’all will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.


When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “Still you lack one thing. Sell everything you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then you come, follow me.”


After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!”


A student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.


He said to them all, “Anyone who desires to follow come after must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.


My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.


If anyone serves me, let them follow me. Where I am, there my deacon will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor them.


They sold their possessions and property, and distributed them according to those who had need.


For y’all shared with the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your* property, knowing that y’all have a better possession and more lasting possession.
