And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.


These are the generations of Noe. Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations; he walked with God.


There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job: and that man was simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil.


Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.


The young man saith to him: All these I have kept from my youth, what is yet wanting to me?


And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad: for he had great possessions.


And Jesus said to them: Amen, I say to you, that you, who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, you also shall sit on twelve seats judging the twelve tribes of Israel.


And he saith to them: Come ye after me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.


Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect.


But Jesus said to him: Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.


And when Jesus passed on from hence, he saw a man sitting in the custom house, named Matthew; and he saith to him: Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.


And Jesus looking on him, loved him, and said to him: One thing is wanting unto thee: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.


And when he was passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus sitting at the receipt of custom; and he saith to him: Follow me. And rising up, he followed him.


And calling the multitude together with his disciples, he said to them: If any man will follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.


Sell what you possess and give alms. Make to yourselves bags which grow not old, a treasure in heaven which faileth not: where no thief approacheth, nor moth corrupteth.


So likewise every one of you that doth not renounce all that he possesseth, cannot be my disciple.


And I say to you: Make unto you friends of the mammon of iniquity; that when you shall fail, they may receive you into everlasting dwellings.


Which when Jesus had heard, he said to him: Yet one thing is wanting to thee: sell all whatever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.


And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said to him: Follow me.


The disciple is not above his master: but every one shall be perfect, if he be as his master.


And he said to all: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.


My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me.


If any man minister to me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall my minister be. If any man minister to me, him will my Father honour.


Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need.


For you both had compassion on them that were in bands, and took with joy the being stripped of your own goods, knowing that you have a better and a lasting substance.
