“A human born of a woman, has few days, full of trouble.


but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.


Return to your rest, my soul, for YHWH has dealt bountifully with you.


For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah.


For my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.


that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.


I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and I see that all is emptiness and a chasing after wind.


All things are full of weariness beyond uttering. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.


There is one who is alone, and he has neither son nor brother. There is no end to all of his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with wealth. “For whom then do I labor and deprive my soul of enjoyment?” This also is emptiness. Yes, it is a miserable business.


Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken YHWH. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.


It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.


to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Y’all give rest to the weary,” and “This is a place of repose.” But they were not willing to listen.


to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of YHWH, that he may be glorified.


For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says YHWH: “but I will look to this person, to the one who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.


For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.”


The sons of Jonadab the son of Rekab have observed the commandment that their father commanded them, but this people has not listened to me.”’


YHWH says, “Y’all are to stand at the crossroads and look. Ask* about the old paths, where is the good way is. Then y’all must walk in it, and y’all will find rest for your* souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’


Take my yoke upon y’all and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and y’all will find rest for your* souls.


They tie up heavy, grievous burdens and lay them on the shoulders of humans, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.


All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. Whoever comes to me, I will never send away.


Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let them come to me and drink!


Now then, why are y’all tempting God by imposing a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither we nor our ancestors were able to endure?


In everything I’ve shown y’all that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this, and to remember the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”


It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore y’all, stand firm and don’t be entangled again by a yoke of bondage.


and to give relief to y’all who are afflicted with us. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.


Therefore, let us be careful that, while a promise of entering into his rest remains, none of y’all should seem to have fallen short of it.


The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely.
