He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.


For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.


Then he said to them, “Y’all are to go and eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Y’all must not grieve, for the joy of YHWH is y’all’s strength.”


All the people went their way to eat, to drink, to send portions, and to celebrate, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.


the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.


He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.


He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.


and if you pour out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will rise in darkness, and your obscurity will be as the noonday;


Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?


Large crowds came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others. They laid them at his feet, and he healed them.


Those servants went out into the streets and gathered together as many as they could find, both bad and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.


But as for what is inside, y’all should give to those in need, and then everything will be clean to y’all.


Then Jesus said to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, don’t invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich neighbors, otherwise they might invite you in return, and you would be repaid.


and you will be blessed. Because they can’t repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”


“The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house was enraged and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, crippled, blind, and lame.’


Peter got up and went with them, and when he arrived, they brought him to the upper room. All the widows stood around him, weeping and showing the robes and other garments that Dorcas had made while she was with them.


The Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, as well as the foreigner living among you, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates may come, and eat and be satisfied so that YHWH your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.


Rejoice before YHWH your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, in the place where YHWH your God chooses to cause ʜɪꜱ name to dwell.

The overseer therefore must be without reproach, a one-woman man, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, able to teach,


being approved by excellent works, such as if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the feet of saints, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.


but hospitable, a lover of good, clear-minded, just, devout, self-disciplined,


I have had great joy and encouragement in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, sibling.


Y’all must not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have received angels as guests without knowing it.
