I will send and take all the families of the north,” says YHWH, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.


But the nation that submits their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, that nation I will let remain in their own land,’ says YHWH; ‘and they will till it and dwell in it.’”’”


Why will y’all die, your and your people, by the sword, famine, and plague, as YHWH has said of any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?


For YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.”’”


I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon,’ says YHWH; ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”


YHWH Almighty says: “Look, I will send the sword, famine, and pestilence on them, and I will make them like rotten figs that can’t be eaten, because they are so bad.


I will pursue them with the sword, famine, and pestilence, and I will deliver them to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an object of horror, an astonishment, a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have driven them,


Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, “Y’all must not be afraid to serve the Chaldeans. Y’all are to dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well for y’all.


For Lord YHWH says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!
