The Lord will laugh at ʜɪᴍ, for ʜᴇ sees that ʜɪꜱ day is coming.


The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.


Look! Here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs.” He answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon, and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.


‘They will be carried to Babylon, and there they will be, until the day that I visit them,’ says YHWH; ‘then I will bring them up, and restore them to this place.’”


The word which came to Jeremiah from YHWH, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:


YHWH says, ‘I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life.’”


The word that YHWH spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt:


In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty-fifth day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and released him from prison.


I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.


You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory.


it is you, O king, that have grown and become strong; for your greatness has grown, and reaches to the sky, and your dominion to the end of the earth.


Won’t your debtors rise up suddenly, and wake up those who make you tremble, and you will be their victim?


Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you because of human blood. For you have done violence to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.


Another, a second angel, followed, saying, “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, she who made all the ethnic groups drink the wine of her immoral sexual passion.”


The great city became divided into three parts, and the cities of the ethnic groups fell. Babylon the Great was remembered in the presence of God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fury of ʜɪꜱ wrath.
