Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the undergarment from the place where I had hidden it, but the undergarment was ruined. It was profitable for nothing.


For I have set my face against this city for disaster, and not for good,” says YHWH. “It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.”’


One basket had very good figs, like the figs that had ripened early, and the other basket had very bad figs, so bad they could not be eaten.


“YHWH, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.


For even if y’all strike down the entire army of the Chaldeans who fight against y’all, and only wounded men were left among them, they would get up from their tent and burn this city with fire.’”


Then Zedekiah the king sent for him and had him brought out. The king asked him secretly in his house, “Is there any word from YHWH?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” He also said, “You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”


When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of YHWH their God, all these words that YHWH their God had sent him to them,


The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived in Migdol, Tahpanhes, Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
