In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great; yet in his disease he didn’t seek YHWH, but just the physicians.


An arm of flesh is with him, but YHWH our God is with us to help us and to fight our battles.” The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.


For I have kept the ways of YHWH, and have not acted wickedly toward my God.


Surely the children of humanity are but a breath, important people but a falsehood. Weighed on a balances, they will go up, because together they are lighter than a breath.


Y’all must stop trusting in humankind, whose breath is in their nostrils. Why should they be esteemed?


They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.


Look, you trust in Egypt, the staff of this splintered reed. If a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.


Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. YHWH saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.


and say to them, YHWH, the God of Israel says: ‘Cursed is the man who doesn’t obey the words of this covenant,


Then y’all’s survivors will remember me in the nations where they are exiled, how I was crushed by their lustful hearts that have departed from me, and with their eyes that lust after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils they have committed in all their abominations.


When YHWH began to spoke through Hosea, YHWH said to Hosea, “Go, take for yourself a wife of promiscuity and children of promiscuity, for the land is promiscuous-promiscuous, forsaking YHWH.”
