Your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.


The voice of news, is coming, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.


Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob. Yes, they have devoured him, consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.


Lift up y’all’s eyes, and see those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, your beautiful flock?


If they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you must tell them, ‘YHWH Almighty says: “You must drink-drink!


I will send and take all the families of the north,” says YHWH, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.


YHWH says: “Y’all say about this place, ‘It is waste, without humans or animals.' Yet in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without humans, inhabitants and animals, there will be heard in once more


The word which came to Jeremiah from YHWH, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:


I will give this command,” says YHWH, “and cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it, take it, and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”


All the princes of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the middle gate: Nergal Sharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim the Rabsaris, Nergal Sharezer the Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.


“Y’all tell the nations: Look! Proclaim to Jerusalem: ‘Besiegers are coming from a far country, raising their voice against the cities of Judah.


Y’all must raise the signal toward Zion and flee for safety! Y’all must not stand still, for I will bring disaster from the north and a great destruction.”


Tell them, this is what YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Look! I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.


Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured out, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, and they became a ruin and desolate, as they are today.’


The daughter of Egypt will be disappointed; she will be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.”


Look, I will bring a nation on y’all from far away, house of Israel,” says YHWH. “It is a mighty nation. It is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you don’t know and don’t understand what they say.


This is what YHWH says, “Look, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.


“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”


They ravished the women in Zion, the virgins in the cities of Judah.


“There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain. They are put to shame in the terror which they caused by their might. They lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.


But I will remove the northern army far away from y’all, and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, its front into the eastern sea, and its back into the western sea; and its stench will come up, and its bad smell will rise.” Surely ʜᴇ has done great things.


The one with the black horses goes out toward the north country; and the white went out after them; and the dappled went out toward the south country.”
