I came today to the spring, and said, ‘YHWH, the God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go—


He looked, and saw a well in the field, and saw three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.


Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and lived in the land of Midian, and he sat down by a well.


Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. They came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.


A righteous person respects the life of their animal, but even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.


A woman of Samaria came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”


Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse YHWH’s righteous acts, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. “Then YHWH’s people went down to the gates.
