He said to Abram, “You may know-know that your offspring will live as foreigners in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them. They will afflict them four hundred years.


Israel said to Joseph, “I am about to die, but God will be with y’all, and bring y’all again to the land of your* fathers.


Joseph said to his brothers, “I am dying, but God will visit-visit y’all, and bring y’all up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom YHWH cast out before the children of Israel.


“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;


Hᴇ brought ʜɪꜱ people out with joy, ʜɪꜱ chosen with singing.


Now the time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.


Moses said to the people, “Remember this day when y’all came out of Egypt, out from the house of slavery, for YHWH brought y’all out with a mighty hand. No leavened bread may be eaten.


Today, in the month Abib, y’all are going out.


“In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding riddles, will stand up.


“‘Y’all must not defile yourselves* in any of these things, because the nations I am driving out before y’all were defiled by all these things.


After YHWH your God has driven them out from before you, do not say in your heart, “Because of my righteousness YHWH has brought me in to possess this land.” No, YHWH drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.


Not because of your righteousness or because of the uprightness of your heart will you go in to possess their land. Instead it is because of the wickedness of these nations that YHWH your God drive them out from before you, and so that ʜᴇ might establish the word which YHWH swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
