Deuteronomy 9:3 - Y'all Version Bible

3 But know today that YHWH your God will cross over ahead of you as a devouring fire. Hᴇ will destroy them and bring them down before you. So you will drive them out and make them perish quickly, as YHWH has told to you.

For my angel will go before you, and bring you in to the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I will cut them off.


The appearance of YHWH’s glory was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.


Wrath is not in me, but if I should find briers and thorns, I would do battle! I would march on them and I would burn them together.


Look, the name of YHWH comes from far away, burning with ʜɪꜱ anger, and in thick rising smoke. Hɪꜱ lips are full of indignation. Hɪꜱ tongue is as a devouring fire.


YHWH will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.


For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, it is prepared for the king. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. YHWH’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.


The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?


He who breaks open the way goes up before them. They break through the gate, and go out. Their king passes on before them, with YHWH at their head.


Then he called the crowd and said to them, “Y’all hear and understand.


Again he called the crowd and said to them, “All y’all listen to me and understand.


What then should we say about all of this? If God is for us, who can be against us?


Therefore, y’all must not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.


YHWH y’all’s God, who goes ahead y’all, he will fight for y’all, just as ʜᴇ did for y’all in Egypt before y’all’s eyes,


When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, chariots, and a people more numerous than you, you are not to be afraid of them; for YHWH your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.


for YHWH y’all’s God goes with y’all, to fight for y’all against y’all’s enemies, to delivery y’all.”


For YHWH your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.


You must destroy all the peoples whom YHWH your God will deliver to you. Your eye must not pity them. You must not serve their gods, for that would be a snare to you.


YHWH your God will cast out those nations before you little by little. You will not be allowed to destroy them at once, otherwise the animals of the field would multiply around you.


Understand, then, that YHWH your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.


In a blazing fire, he will punish those who don’t know God and who don’t obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.


For our “God is a consuming fire.”


Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of YHWH commanded.


YHWH delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.


Now therefore give me this hill country, of which YHWH spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that YHWH will be with me, and I will drive them out, as YHWH said.”


Look, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over ahead of y’all into the Jordan.


So when the people left their tents to cross over the Jordan, the priests who carried the ark of the covenant went ahead of the people,


Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day in which YHWH has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not YHWH gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
