Now, you have gone-gone, because you longed-longed for your father’s house, but why have you stolen my gods?”


They left their images there, and David and his men took them away.


For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am YHWH.


for all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.


and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of human hands, wood and stone, and therefore they have destroyed them.


YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “I am about to punish Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him.


I ate no pleasant food. No meat or wine came into my mouth. I didn’t anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.


He will come into the realm of the king of the south, but he will return into his own land.


Though he is fruitful among his brothers, an east wind will come, the breath of YHWH coming up from the wilderness; and his spring will become dry, and his fountain will be dried up. He will plunder the storehouse of treasure.


For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria will be broken in pieces.


while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom YHWH had struck among them. YHWH also executed judgments on their gods.


Y’all must break down their altars, smash their pillars into pieces, and burn their Asherah poles with fire, cut down the idols of their gods. Y’all must destroy their name from that place.


He said, “Y’all have taken my gods which I made and the priest, and then y’all left! What more do I have? How can y’all ask me, ‘What’s wrong?’”
