For as Ionas was three days, and three nights, in the whale's belly: so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him saying: master favor thy self, this shall not come unto thee.


Verily I say unto you, some there be among them that here stand, which shall not taste of death, till they shall have seen the son of man come in his kingdom.


And I say unto you, that Helias is come already: And they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they lusted. In likewise shall also the son of man suffer of them.


¶ And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them saying: see that ye shew this vision to no man, til the son of man be risen again from death.


Even as the son of man came, not to be ministered unto, but to minister: and to give his life for the redemption of many.


ye know that after ij. days shall be ester, and the son of man shall be delivered to be crucified.


¶ While he yet spake, lo, Iudas one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, which were sent from the chief priests and seniors of the people.


When he was accused of the chief priests and seniors, he answered nothing.


and said: Sir, we remember, that this deceiver said while he was yet alive. After three days I will arise again,


he is not here: he is risen as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was put.


And he began to declare unto them, how that the son of man must suffer many things, and should be reproved of the seniors and of the high priests and scribes, and should be killed, and after three days arise again.


He answered and said unto them: Helias at his first coming, shall bring all things again into good order: And even so is it written of the son of man, that he shall suffer many things, and shall be set at nought.


But first must he suffer many things, and be reproved of this nation.


and said unto them: Thus is it written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.


which appeared gloriously, and spake of his departing, which he should end at Ierusalem.
