“ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid, and out of his joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.


When he found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.


When it was full, the fishermen drew it to shore. Then they sat down and gathered the good fish into containers, but the bad ones they threw out.


Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”


Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”


and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on yoʋ will be catching people.”


Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it may bear more fruit.


If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown out like a branch and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.


Even from your own number men will rise up, speaking perverse things to draw the disciples away after them.


For there must be factions among you to show which of you are approved.


I have often been on journeys, exposed to dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers.


Now this matter arose because of the false brothers who were secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might enslave us.


“To the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘These are the words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know yoʋr works; yoʋ have a reputation for being alive, but yoʋ are dead.
