From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been suffering violence, and the violent take it by force.


But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.


“Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able to.


“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone tries to force his way into it.


In the porticoes were lying a great multitude of disabled people, including the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed, who were waiting for the moving of the water.


One man was there who had been suffering in his disability for thirty-eight years.


The disabled man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am going, another goes down before me.”


And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.


But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
