When the commander gave him permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned with his hand to the people. When there was a great hush, he addressed them in the Hebrew language,


When they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew language, they became even more quiet. Then he said,


when at midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who were traveling with me.


I said, ‘Who are yoʋ, Lord?’ He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom yoʋ are persecuting.


The men who were traveling with Saul stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.


Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he is?
