As they went out, they came upon a man of Cyrene, Simon by name; this man they compelled to carry his cross.


In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberi-us Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysani-as tetrarch of Abilene,


and they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.


And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their mission, bringing with them John whose other name was Mark.


But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him


And Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, exhorted the brethren with many words and strengthened them.


But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.


And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.


And he had four unmarried daughters, who prophesied.


Thus Joseph who was surnamed by the apostles Barnabas (which means, Son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus,


But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest


Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.


Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head,


And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.


Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.


Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.


and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.


Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?


And with him the rest of the Jews acted insincerely, so that even Barnabas was carried away by their insincerity.


and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;


And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,


All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
