The king of Israel answered, “Tell him: One who puts on armor should not brag like one who takes it off.”


Haman added, “Even Queen Esther let no one but myself come with the king to the banquet that she prepared. Tomorrow also I am invited by her, together with the king.


For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would listen to his voice!


Indeed, they do not know what is to be, for who can tell them how it will be?


“Come,” they say, “let us get wine; let us fill ourselves with strong drink. And tomorrow will be like today, great beyond measure.”


For he says, “At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.” See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!


Moreover the Lord will give Israel along with you into the hands of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me; the Lord will also give the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines.”
