But the citizens of his country hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to rule over us.’


He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him.


But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God,


Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.


He testifies to what he has seen and heard, yet no one accepts his testimony.


“My brothers, you descendants of Abraham's family, and others who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent.


Then both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you reject it and judge yourselves to be unworthy of eternal life, we are now turning to the Gentiles.


and said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home.


For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of the truth of God in order that he might confirm the promises given to the patriarchs,


I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience confirms it by the Holy Spirit—


to them belong the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, comes the Messiah, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.
