So she named the Lord who spoke to her, “You are El-roi”; for she said, “Have I really seen God and remained alive after seeing him?”


When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless.


And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.


He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account.


All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.


He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.


No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.


All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being


The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.


“Righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I know you; and these know that you have sent me.


But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, and I also am working.”


yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good—giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.”


For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe.


None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.


yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.


for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him.


By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.


See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
