Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; Philistia too, and Tyre, with Ethiopia — “This one was born there,” they say.


As soon as he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, where many had gathered and were praying.


Then after completing their mission Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem and brought with them John, whose other name was Mark.


Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark.


The disagreement became so sharp that they parted company; Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus.


Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, as does Mark the cousin of Barnabas, concerning whom you have received instructions—if he comes to you, welcome him.


and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.


The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not only I but also all who know the truth,


The children of your elect sister send you their greetings.


and on her forehead was written a name, a mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of whores and of earth's abominations.”


He called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! It has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt of every foul spirit, a haunt of every foul bird, a haunt of every foul and hateful beast.
