And King David longed to go to Absalom, for he was consoled concerning Amnon’s death.


So Hanun seized David’s envoys, shaved them, cut off their garments at the buttocks, and sent them away.


They repay me evil for good and leave me like one bereaved.


Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,


Those who repay my good with evil lodge accusations against me, though I seek only to do what is good.


Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good.
