Numbers 5:27 - New International Version (Anglicised)

27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: when she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.

He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil.


I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare.


You will leave your name for my chosen ones to use in their curses; the Sovereign Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name.


I will make them abhorrent and an offence to all the kingdoms of the earth, a reproach and a byword, a curse and an object of ridicule, wherever I banish them.


I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth, a curse and an object of horror, of scorn and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them.

But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband’ –


If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.


What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!


To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?


You will become a thing of horror, a byword and an object of ridicule among all the peoples where the Lord will drive you.


This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings;
