Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.


because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.


It is time for you to act, Lord; your law is being broken.


My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.


Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.” ’


Whoever scorns instruction will pay for it, but whoever respects a command is rewarded.
