So he said he would destroy them – had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.


Lord our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds.


Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.


Moses said to Pharaoh, ‘I leave to you the honour of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.’


This is what the Lord says: ‘The people who survive the sword will find favour in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.’


Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
