It pleased the Lord for the sake of his righteousness to make his law great and glorious.


But John tried to deter him, saying, ‘I need to be baptised by you, and do you come to me?’


Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.


I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.


If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.


‘My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.


The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.’


Such a high priest truly meets our need – one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.


whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
