But John refused him, saying, "I ought to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?"


Now they were both just before God, progressing in all of the commandments and the justifications of the Lord without blame.


For I have given you an example, so that just as I have done for you, so also should you do.


If you keep my precepts, you shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept my Father's precepts and I abide in his love.


Jesus said to them: "My food is to do the will of the One who sent me, so that I may perfect his work.


And he who sent me is with me, and he has not abandoned me alone. For I always do what is pleasing to him."


For it was fitting that we should have such a High Priest: holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted higher than the heavens.


Whoever declares himself to remain in him, ought to walk just as he himself walked.
