‘Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.’


‘Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.


For this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you – for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye –


‘But so that we may not cause offence, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.’


‘See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.


In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.


And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
