who say, “Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!” Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.


‘But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.


Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.


And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.’


Therefore, I will punish him and then release him.’


Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.


The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.


Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.


Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.


because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.


Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
