‘Do not lay a hand on the boy,’ he said. ‘Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.’


Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.


Some men brought to him a paralysed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, ‘Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.’


Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”?


When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralysed man, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’


Then Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’


He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.


Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.’

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.


But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
